Matthew’s Role at The Swiftest
Matthew is a leading researcher, data analyst, and writer covering the insurance industry at The Swiftest. Known around the company as its "resident insurance nerd,” he brings a deep passion for all things data, numbers, and graphs to his work. After growing frustrated with spending hours comparing insurance on spam-heavy comparison sites, Matthew co-founded The Swiftest to create a faster, more transparent experience that puts consumers first.
Matthew is a licensed property & casualty insurance producer in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., giving him firsthand knowledge of how insurance products are evaluated, priced, and sold. Since 2010, he's worked in all aspects of the insurance industry.
Matthew also leads our research department, where he studies insurance trends and broader societal issues. His goal is to use data-driven insights to create resources that inform and provide value to a broader audience.

Why Matthew Believes in The Swiftest
"If you got a spam call from an insurance solicitor around 2009, it might’ve been me. I started my career cold-calling people who'd entered a sweepstakes after their info had been sold to the company I worked for. I even wound up cold-calling people I knew who randomly showed up on my dialer.
That’s the dark side of insurance we all hate. But I’m one of the good guys now.
I co-founded The Swiftest to do the opposite: no cold calls, no pressure, no selling your information–just simple, honest comparisons–what insurance shopping should be.
And since 2020, The Swiftest has also donated almost $1 million to charities like the Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the World Wildlife Fund. You’re part of that, too. When you acquire insurance through our site, a portion of what we earn goes toward a good cause–because we’re all in this together, whether we’re insurance shopping or giving back." - Matthew H. Nash
